Account currency: being charged in USD despite booking a place in the UK with a GBP Paypal account

Twice I've booked a place in the UK, using my UK GBP PayPal account and twice the end transaction goes through in USD. Why is this happening? The prices I view and go to book are in GBP but then once I press confirm booking it changes to USD. Please advise as i see no reason why i should be paying currency conversion charges?

I have the exact same problem!

 

I hope someone can get back to you/us and fix the issue, it doesn't happen for my friends who use AirBnB.
