AirBNB customer service is totally unreasonable

AirBNB customer service is totally unreasonable

My husband made a reservation on AirBNB and was unable to get in touch with the host even 3 hours before scheduled check-in. Being busy, he asked me to call customer service. I provided the agent the reservation number and asked her to tell the host to get in touch with my husband. I can't believe what "privacy" was being violated. She just refused to do anything unless my husband called himself. I asked to talk to her manager and she threatened to terminate the call which she did right after.

Was I being unreasonable? This will be the last time I use AirBNB. Too bad for the hosts listing here.

@Vivek12 - In this day and age, the idea of doing something on behalf of your spouse seems to be going by way of the dodo.  Privacy laws have gotten to be so strict that only the individual with the name on the account can act on it.  It's not unreasonable to want to try and help out - to try and get the host on the line so your husband knows the reservation is legit, I get it, but I can also see Airbnb's side too.... it's not your reservation, it's your husband's and it's your husband's account.

I've tried to get issues resolved for my husband's car loan - nope - I'm not on the loan so I can't do anything to help.  Tried to resolve problems with our HSA - nope - I'm not the primary.  Tried to get my husband's medical records moved - nope - HIPAA.   Perhaps it's better than the days when a jilted  lover could clear out a bank account or when we required spousal permission for surgery, but it's definitely more frustrating.

Your headline says: AirBNB customer service is totally unreasonable

At the end of your message you state "Was i being unreasonable" ?

I am happy to see there is at least some self reflection.

I am convinced you will use Airbnb again in future.

Best regards,
