I wrote telling airbnb about my towns new ordinance being very expensive each year for owner occupied STR. I thought it was reasonable to ask how they can help off set the expense. Especially for new host it might help to have an insentive program like become s super host and get the fees back ?? Here is the response from “Rogue” from Airbnb customer service. Totally missed the point ugh. Or am I just not getting that they don’t really care and are “just a platform” ?
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Airbnb Customer Support Team. My name is Roque and it's my pleasure to assist you with your concern.
Going back to your concern, please be advised that we are not liable for their City ordinances. It is not Airbnb who require them to register their property it is the local law. We are just a platform partnered with them to post their ads and help them get a guest. If they passed fire inspection, good for them, but why do we need to compensate them if that is a basic requirement in this business. I hope you understand, that compensation in Airbnb do not work that way.
Warm regards,
