Airbnb asking NEW YORK hosts to help the government to track people.

Got an email today from Airbnb stating that I, a private citizen, should be making my guests complete a form from the government, to be submitted to the government...

Did we all suddenly forget the 4th amendment to the constitution of these united states?

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

@Jonathon10   PS:  Everyone arriving in New York has to fill out the contact tracing form anyway, so I don't see why Airbnb is asking you to be redundant.

I had one guest after this e-mail came out and one potential guest request. I think, the potential guest didn't place his booking because I already mentioned this form before he booked. He just never booked after that. The guest who booked, during his check in he said, he just landed from Egypt, I let him fill out this form and he got angry at me, but as he sent me a screen shot of this form, it stated that he traveled in NYS and is safe to host. It was very confusing to me, either he lied or I do not understand the situation.

@Elisabeth40  Well, obviously your guest lied one way or the other. Either he just arrived from Egypt, as he told you on check-in, or he lied on the form, one or the other. And my guess would be that he lied on the form, because what reason would he have to tell you he just arrived from Egypt if that wasn't the case?

Well I will never know, but I found it strange that the form stated he traveled in NYS, especially after he said he came from abroad. Maybe he stayed couple nights before at another airbnb and this couple days were good enough. Or maybe I am just wrong and don't understand the form.
