Airbnb changed nightly rate after guest requested an extension

I have a guest that rented January 1 to April 30. My rate is $85 a night. The guest asked for an extension till August 13. I granted the request. Airbnb changed the nightly rate to $55 for the whole 223 day rental. My nightly rate has always been locked at $85 with no pricing modifications allowed. Right now I can't get any help from Airbnb and I'm out $6500 and the guest won't return my calls. Not sure how I'm going to make my house payment. Any suggestions?

That's why I always ask the guest to star a new booking.

@Chuck40 Presumably you accepted the rate when you accepted the extension. I guess you didn't look at it closely and just assumed it was at the correct rate?

Yeh, I don't recall seeing any rate. I have a Airbnb  rental as a guest next month so I went to extend that rental and it didn't request a rate or make it possible for a rate change so I don't know where it came from.  I've given Airbnb thousands of dollars. It be nice if they would communicate with me.
