Airbnb not complying w cancel policy

My guest had tickets on low cost airline that canceled their flight, mind you at 11pm of check in, and Airbnb fully refunded leaving me, the host out of the booking. This was a big weekend and very desirable, but Airbnb claims this falls under its cancellation policy—but the way it reads is an AIRPORT issue (weather, etc). I feel this was a travel insurance issue and it is not fair the burden now falls on the host. No hotel would honor this during such a special event (major music festival). I’m so fed up w Airbnb not sticking to their policies and supporting hosts—the backbone of the program.  I’ve been a super host since 2012 and am so frustrated.  How can I file a claim bc I feel screwed by this?

@Kerrie1  You can try and try to appeal to Airbnb and hope to get somewhere- but even if you do it's likely to be a small amount and probably not worth the stress. We all sign up to Airbnb's terms and cancelled flights fall within their extenuating circumstances (depending on the situation). It's a pain - and it happens occasionally - it's one of the risks we accept when using their booking platform. Good luck!
