Airbnb said I didn't respond in time but I DID and so did my guest!

I got a booking request which I replied to accepting the guest. Got a reply from guest saying she was happy. Then got continual emails from Aibnb warning I was running out of time to respond to booking enquiry. I then sent ANOTHER message to potential guest asking if he had booked didn't hear anything for several days. Then got another email from Airbnb saying booking had expired. Then got a message from from guest saying she hadn't got my message even though I could see it on the messagr thread. We BOTH want to accept the booking but are being somehow BLOCKED. Neither of us think we've done anything wrong. I resent being marked down for not responding in time WHEN I DID. Has anyone got any ideas please?

@Abigail3 Just asking... when you textually (via the message system) accepted the guest's booking request, did you also click the Approve button? I hate to ask, but nothing in your question makes it clear one way or another that you did.
