Anyone know about why Airbnb deducting over 3.5% fees instead if the advertised 3%?

Hi 

im relatively new to Airbnb hosting so not sure why it is that Airbnb deduct over 3.5% fees from each booking instead of the advertised 3% fees for hosts. Can anyone shed light on this please?

@Zohar5 do you have Super strict cancelation policy? Or do you host in Italy? We might be of more help if you actually had a listing connected to your account.

By 'over 3.5%' you presumably mean 3.6%

Service Fee in UK is 3% + VAT. -

VAT = 20%

20% of 3 = 0.6

3 + 0.6 = 3.6%

If you look into a reservation you will notice there is a VAT invoice....
