Folks, there's a comment thread getting started on Host Voice regarding pet fees. We are asking that the fab airbnb tech team create an automatic pet check off that will give hosts more control over pet fees (dogs specifically), and guests more clarity on bringing their pets along. For example, for hosts there could be an icon for size of dog accepted (small, med, large), with the caveat that MUST talk to their host prior to bringing their dog. There could also be a check off box on the reservation page that would indicate number of pets the guest wants to bring, with the accompanying charge per pet per night. This would make life A TON simpler for everyone.
If you think that this would be a good topic for airbnb to consider, please give this a thumbs up, then head over to Host Voice, look for Kristen's post, and give her a thumbs up, as well. It would be greatly appriciated to get community support for this. Thank you!
"the fab airbnb tech team" - that must be the first oxymoron of the year given the number of technical glitches, problems and database issues that there are on the Airbnb platform.
Remember the "honey" homily 🙂
Totally agree! I just had a guest with a pet which I knew nothing about until I searched for her Facebook profile and saw a photo of the dog! I do require guests to ask for permission and do charge a fee for pets, so this one was trying to get away with it without telling me.
Yeah, it would make it easier on everyone if there was a check off. Thanks for the story, it's something a lot of hosts have gone through! Find Kristen's post on Host Voice and give her a thumbs up. Cheers!
