Bank account detail for payout changed without any action from my side

Quite odd situation today: I received an email from Airbnb’s 3rd party payout provider Payoneer stating that a given payment did not go through becauce of wrong bank account details. I checked the amount informed and found out that I had already received payments from 2 other guests after this one that was returned. I then went to my payout details in Airbnb’s site to find out that the “account number” was in fact my “branch number”, but I never made any change! A few minutes later I receive an email from Airbnb directly informing that they wanted to make me a new payment but I needed to “add a payout method”!!! I added the same bank account again, deleted the one with the issue and now the account is “pending review”.

 

Has anyone here experienced something similar to it? Is there any chances Airbnb has been hacked?

I use Payoneer as well, @Euler5, so I would start by calling their customer service first.  Document their reply then contact Air BNB.  Good luck!
