We host in a rural location. No street lights, no late night traffic, a very quiet neighborhood. Our last guest did a self check-in, which is not uncommon. No communication at all. During the night, specifically at midnight, a car came up our very private driveway and parked behind the guest vehicle. Minutes later it left. Again, at 2AM, the same car parked at the bottom of our driveway for a few minutes and left again. We felt quite unsafe.
The guest checked out the next morning, and again, no communication at all.
We decided that we do not want to host this guest again. I tried the community center to see how to block a guest. I contacted by email Airbnb and they sent instructions on how to block. Problem is, these instructions do not work. Then, I phoned Airbnb and was told that all blocking is decided by Airbnb staff! I do not have a choice anymore. The instructions sent to me were null and void. So, I emailed Airbnb again asking them to block the guest.
I got another message from Airbnb today with the same instructions that I was first sent! Again, their instructions do not work!
I have definitely given my two cents to Airbnb! They need to get it together!
The guest is not blocked, the instructions do not work, the Airbnb staff has yet to determine if I have the right to block a guest I feel unsafe about!
Wonder if any other superhosts have the same dissappointing experience I have had with Airbnb support?
