Booking dilemma

Hi, I have a small booking dilemma.
I received a request for a 2 week booking from a lady and her autistic 5 year old. I would love to say yes, however I will be away for the first 4 days, and I have reservations about accepting the booking. I’d like to ask questions to put my mind at ease, but due to anti-discriminating laws I am not sure if I can or not? Could anyone assist me with this grey area?

Why should you reject it? I had a family with an autistic child (they should not even mention it), and everything went ok. It is worse for the child  and mother)than for you. They have to adapt to their new place to stay, the travel. I see now reason of doubt, but it is your decession. Good luck, flora

What fears do you have, @Angelina93?

My nephew is autistic and goes about life pretty much the same way as most eight-year-olds. Of course, he has his moments, but none of which have seen him wreck Airbnb (or any other) properties.

As @Flora14 eludes to, it's tougher for mum.

You're on tricky ground, so tell us what it is that worries you. And consider this, can you imagine Albert Einstein being turned down? He was on the spectrum, along with a whole load of others who've helped change the world (for the good).

Thanks for your responses Flora and Gordan.
I absolutely agree with you both and appreciate your replies.

After submitting the question, I answered my own reservations... that there wasn’t any.
I accepted the booking and would absolutely love to have them stay.

Have felt a little down on myself,  and don’t really know why I questioned it at all since I’ve really enjoyed hosting so far.

I guess it’s all a learning curve at times.

Thanks again

@Angelina93  Don't beat yourself up over the question- I can understand why you might have a bit of concern. Autism is such a wide spectrum, from quite fully functional, you'd-never-even-know, to obvious behavioral issues.

But perfectly "normal" children can wreak havoc in a home just as easily as a child with behavioral issues, whether it's autism, ADHD, etc. The bottom line is whether the parents are attentive and make sure the property is treated with respect or whether they just let the kids run wild.
