I don't know if this is a coincidence or not..any time we have not had a booking for a while I will go in and change a word in the title..muck with the price or my husband will..on a device not linked with our Airbnb account..do a search as if looking to stay and HEY PRESTO..within a day or two we will get 2-3 bookings..never fails!
Curious to know if others have this same experience?
Hi @Maree25 it's not a coincidence!
If you update your calendar on a regular basis, the platform views your listing as active and therefore as a safer option for a successful booking, so you should appear higher in rankings when guests search.
If you notice your bookings come in "waves" this is for the same reason- a successful booking will place you higher in search, as again you're a safer option and therefore make you more visible to other guests searching, which is why you'll often see bookings come in one after the other.
Best wishes
Paul 🙂
That is great information. Thanks! I've been working on my listing for a fews days and went from page 20+ to page 7. Make sure to open new incognito tab when searching for your own listing.
@Maree25 what @Paul1255 said is correct. The more you interact with your listing (change prices, block or unblock dates or update your listing description) the higher you will appear in the rankings. I go in every day or two and change my prices by $1-2 and it keeps my listing rated highly so more guests see it when they search.
Found this fascinating! Thanks for sharing your findings. I've definitely noticed the "waves of bookings" phenomenon.
