CLASS ACTION against AirBnB and Hosts for Last minute cancellations

Thom 16 and many others, AirBnB and hosts can continue canceling last minute for no reason, UNTIL litigation yields regulations that STOP this type of eggregious behavior.  I've just run into this exact scenario and we are taking the HOST and  AirBnB to court.  A "class-action" suit would help matters for the Tenants.  If interested in learning more about the CLASS-ACTION SUIT against AirBnB please contact ** to add your name to the list. Thanks - Robert

Airbnb has the penalty for cancelling a guest trip to a host. But the last minute cancellation (e.g. on the checkin date) should not be allowed unless it is extreme cases such as flood, fire, etc causing inhabitable conditions or some personal emergencies such as hospitalized and the death of a family members etc.

@Robert1690  Good luck, really. It's definitely rude for a host to cancel last minute unless there is an extenuating circumstance, like the plumbing just burst, or a family member was in a serious accident or died.

But just so you know, guests cancel last minute all the time. With the flimsiest of excuses. What do you think the penalty for guests cancelling should be?

as @Sarah977  said, guests cancel last minute, even on the day of check-in and ask for a refund. Every host loses income when it happens because it is practically impossible to rebook the same day or just a few days in advance.

Hosts are heavily penalized for every cancelation even if it happens minutes after the booking is done and months in advance so hosts will always try to avoid it whenever is possible.

You should understand that Airbnb is different than a hotel and cancellation is the risk every guest should count on . Every apartment/room/home is usually managed by just one person or one family. If he gets sick or home is damaged and needs repair then usually there is no other personal or other spare rooms/units available to offer.

I am sorry it happened to you but believe me, your host had a good reason why he was unable to host you, even if you don't know what the reason was.

ps

some hosts I know had to cancel all future bookings because city ordinance or law was changed and they were not allowed to host anymore. For example I've heard Dublin banned short term rental from Jun 1st 2019

Hi,

We were left stranded in the streets of Paris and had to sleep in a rental car on our first night. I want to join the class action lawsuit but I can't see the email that is hidden. How can I contact you otherwise?

Thanks
