Can I be left without a payment?

I am new to Airbnb and will have my first guest this coming weekend 10/13 - 10/15. I was told by Airbnb VIA email that the payment will not be released until Nov. 6th. Could I be left without payment? Does the guest pay AirBNb who then holds it and then releases to me?

Yay! for your first booking!

All payments go throught AirBnB. It is their policy to hold 1st payment for up to 30 days. After that you should be paid right away.

Good luck!

I have been hosting on Airbnb for about 10 months and now for the 1st time did not receive a payment for a guest that was at our home on the 5-10-2107.    Why would that be?   I have never had any payment problems

i have the same problem. had guets yesterday all seemed well regarding payment. but did not receive any. received one payment but not for the other geusts.

so whats going to happen now? wish cumunication with airbnb be more easy. its so difficult to resolve a problem. we should have a direct link with a person incharge for an amount of people say just for malta. its so frastrating !!!!

There is a help button with commonly asked questions, ability to ask a question about a specific guest and phone numbers.

I don't remember that happening to me with my first booking, but maybe things have changed.

I have however, experienced the same problem as the other hosts here. Having hosted for around 20 months now, this is the first time I have never not received a payment on time, let alone no payment at all...and no warning from Airbnb that this was about to change (if it has changed?).

Does anyone know what's going on with that? I know they say it can take UP TO a certain number of days, but when it religiously hits the account at the predicted time and day, for 20 months, there's no reason to think it won't continue doing so.

We have also had issues with payment. Have confirmed with guest that her payment was deducted from her account in July when she made the booking. However still no payment from Airbnb. Nearly a month of trying to get a response from Airbnb regarding payment and still no payment has been made ow payment

I am having the same problem. Were you able to resolve it? And how? We are just not seeing the funds all of a sudden and our PayPal account for numerous reservations.

Similar thing here.. I have just started hosting and have been receiving payments (bank transfer) in 2 days max, but it turned out that the last payment was 15 EUR less than it was supposed  to be, my earned amount paid was less than it was calculated on my profile?!? So there are only two days now and nobody contacted me yet..? First (written conversation) I was told that the right amount was paid to me and it must be my bank that charged a fee, but after I checked with my bank, they confirmed that the reduced amount was paid, that they do not charge any fees so if necessary, they can send whatever to confirm this. After writing this information to Airbnb, there is still no reply....!?!? What should I do???

Everybody, FYI I have just received an email/reply saying that the amount missing was an Intermediate bank fee and that it is beyond Airbnb`s control!?

I was not happy with the explanation saying: "the amount you effectively received is due to bank fees applied WHENEVER an international wire is delivered", because I have already been paid through international wire and have always received the exact amount that I earned so this was the first time something like this happened...?! So it (WHE)NEVER happened before.

If it was a bank fee, they charged 15 EUR from the amount of 198 EUR which is rather high percentage!?!

I am not saying I don`t trust Airbnb, but I had a lots of additional questions to ask, because this is something I am going to explore and consider...

And I got an advice to change the payout method...

I will defintetly change something...

These comments are starting to scare me....I have hosted a LOT this past month , almost 4000 they say payment will be made Nov 22 30 days after I started....pleasezzzz let me know you got paid.
Thank you

Hi Mary, I am also in Cape Town and am having the same problem! Our guests checked in on the 28 December, and left on the 2nd January. I am told payment was released by AirBnB on the 29 Jan and that it was due in my account latest 4 January. It is now the 15th January and there is no sign of the money. It is not my first payment, the others went through fine and timeously. I have tried unsuccessfully to get AirBnb to resolved the matter but they have been utterly unhelpful and have told me I need to contact Payoneer to track the funds. Surely as Payoneer is their service provided, and I am AirBnB's customer, AirBnB should be trying to resolved the problem? My guests had a wonderful stay, and I provided the service I was required to. I am tearing my hair out as I am really dependent on these funds. I was just wondering if you had had any luck receiving your funds, and if yes, how you came right?  Been left so frustrated and discouraged by this, and seriously considering not hosting again.

I have similar problem with 2 payout made by AirBnB booking made in March 2018. I have not received yet over 1 month. I call AirBnB, the Payment Specialist name Rae (aka, Juliet ?) told me two version answer:

1. The payment have been released. AirBnB have proof of receipt.

2. The reason I have not received the fund because account name holder is different.

It sounds contradictory isn't it ?

I told them there is only one name account holder and no other name. Also, I told them back in June 2017, there were 3 payout to same account number was successfull. Nothing have been change since then ?

The sad thing is, when I ask them to sent me the proof of receipt so I can bring it to my financial institution AirBnB refused citing privacy issue, because the name is not my name. Can't they cross or black out the name ? How can I ask my bank to investigate without any proof ?

I want to talk to Rae, left her few massages requesting to call me but she just ignoring my request.

I did call AirBnB to escalate the issue, spoke 2 times with 2 different supervisor (John and Greg) with no help at all. I dont know what else I can do to resolved this issue and get my hard earn money - MY MONEY. I work hard to achieve Superhost but is it how AirBnB treat me ???...

What I need from AirBnB give me the proof of detail receipt the fund already in my bank so I can come show it to my bank.  If anyone have similar experience and or can advise me what else I can do, I am very much appreciated.

Joshua.
