Hello,
I just made a reservation for a month and I will be working during my stay and I need high-speed internet to work. I asked the host what was the download speed and he said that's over 200Mbps but one of his pictures states that's 13Mbps. He also said that he would go to the place next month to test the speed and if it is too low for me I can cancel with no penalty even though his current cancellation policy says that I have 48 hours to cancel without penalty. If somehow he refuses to cancel without penalty can I use the text messages he sent me as a proof to get a refund?
Thanks,
Silvio

The refund within 48 hours includes the Airbnb service fees.
The "promised refund" of the host is not reliable and also refund of Airbnb Service fees is not included.
@Silvio179 the world of Airbnb customer service is somewhat random. Whilst you should get a refund nothing is certain once you give up the 48hr opportunity. Other things to consider are will there be alternatives available if you wait for him to measure the speed next month.
@Silvio179 You know your Internet needs and the proof is right in front of you that this host can’t meet those needs. Take advantage of your free cancellation and cancel way before your 48 hours is up. If host can prove it’s higher by posting that speed to his listing, then you can always rebook if you want.
@Silvio179 You probably don't want to risk it. I have seen other guests who have been told via the message system that the host will give them a refund, and then the host changes his/her mind and Airbnb doesn't enforce it. They might, they might not, they are unpredicatable.

Thank you all for the responses! I ended up canceling the reservation.
