I pre-approved a guest 5 days ago. After that, the property was booked on Homeaway for the approved date. Then today, the Airbnb approved guest booked, so I had to cancel that as a double booking. I thought I was sync'd with Homeaway, but appraently not. Trying to follow directions to import Homeaway calendar, I reached a dead end. I got to the import calendar page, and at the bottom a link to "Find Hameaway calendar address" went to a window with all the lines just blank - in information, so I don't know how to get the calendar address to import Homeaway and be sync's with them.
You should be able to find the link by going to your calendar on the other site and looking for an ical link to copy and paste. You have to do this on both ends.
My issue is a bit different. The booking shows up on AirBnB, but for a multi-day booking, only the first day is "blocked." Double bookings are still possible. Bottom line: The system can't be trusted. You need to check and adjust every cross-listing manually. (It works fine on the other site.)
I did call Homeaway helpline, and they directed me to the Homeaway calendar URL, which I then copied and pasted into the appropriate place on the Airbnb website. Then I marked a Homeaway calendar as booked for a date in October. After an hour, the Airbnb calendar was till not sync'd. Does it take a long time - I am now assuming it is simply not working. . . .
I never could figure out how to sync my calendar, nor do I want the 'Tentative' days marked out as they are awaiting payment after I've pre-approved.
Airbnb has sent me helpful hints a couple of times, it must be my firewall or something.
The other thing I noticed is when logged into airbnb, if you want to copy and paste the URL, the Edit Listing option comes up.
It was the same when I tried their new 'embedding you listing to other sites'.
I've just given up and do it manually.
