Cancellation with no notice, messages, txt at all

A 28 day booking for my cottage,  due to start in 10 days,  has been cancelled and fully refunded.  I had no notice of this,  no message,  txt or email.  I didn't know about it until I got a request for dates in the previously booked period and thought I'd better check.
 
Is this the new policy ?  Or just another bug ?

@Steven1001  I just posted that app notifications are delayed by several hours.  I have been seeing emails, though.  But there's a definite lag time.
