Hi. We would like to change our nightly fees in February 2019. I'm struggling with how to do this. I know I can change the fee on the calendar starting in February but if people were to book today for a weekend in February the listing would show the old price. I'm sure in check out they would see the new price but is there a way to make this transition a little easier for everyone involved?
@Bonnie203 Not sure what you mean, why do you think people looking at dates with the new price will see the old price?
Actually my admin, Marlo, posted this so I have no idea what she's working on here. She'll be back in the office tomorrow morning so can respond then. Bonnie
@Lisa723 Hi.
Yes that's what I'm afraid of. I just wanted the prices to coniside. If you were to look at our listing right now...the price would show our current pricing ($59)...but if you were to book a room with us in February of 2019 you would see a different price ($69). I just didn't want it to be confusing for our guests. It was more of a concern for people who would book from now until February for next years dates. I ended up going into the calendar starting in Februay and changing all of our prices. I will change our listing in February so they match. I was just wondering if there was a better way to do it. Thank you for answering.
Marlo
@Bonnie203 prices vary on most listings, e.g. with seasonal or weekend rates. When guests search without dates Airbnb unfortunately shows them the lowest available price. When guests search with dates Airbnb shows them accurate prices for those dates. Guests always see their accurate price before booking.
@Bonnie203, as @Lisa723 said, prices can vary greatly even from week to week, depending on the season, events, minimum stays, etc. For example, I have a two night minimum for weekends and a three night minimum during the week, so my prices go up on the weekend. I also have much higher prices in high summer season as well as higher prices during popular holidays.
I also tend to keep rates a bit higher, then as a date approaches with no booking, will lower it a few bucks per day until the day arrives, in order to entice a booking.
Having various prices for different dates will not be confusing for potential guests.
