Checkin with no keypad or lockbox?

Hey fellow hosts. I’m curious to know if anyone has found an effective checkin method that doesn’t involve personally meeting guest, a lock box, or changing the door lock to a keypad? I have two properties in an apartment building that does not allow changing locks. I have been meeting all my guest for checkin and checkout and with two properties now it’s becoming rather tedious. Not to mention the lockbox I purchased was cut off by the complex. Any creative ideas anyone has is greatly appreciated 🙂

Hey @Alexis438  I hope you are well!

For some of my properties I use a keyholding service like KeyNest or KeyCafe- you drop a set of keys to one of their locations (usually a local store, like a 7/11 etc) and the guests go in with a code and pick up their keys before heading over the the property.

Works great as long as you have a location close to your property.

You are notified automatically when guests pick up and drop off keys, it's really easy.

Otherwise, could you enlist the help of a local co-host who could meet your guests at the property for check-in?

Paul.
