Cohosting - how do I track payments if not the owner?

Am a new Airbnb Host in Uganda (East Africa) but have  not listed yet, i need to know how it can work because am an independent marketing person trying to market properties for chosen clients, however i need to know how it can work because i learnt that Airbnb handles the payments and can make transfers following bookings in a spell of 24 hours. This means it has to go to the account of the property owner. As a Host who does not own property but only identifies and lists on Airbnb with consent from owners of the apartments or whatever i list.

Finally if Airbnb gets in touch with the owner of the property and gets their account details, how possible can i track such payments so that my commission is remitted? As and when.

Hi @Roger-Paul0,

Welcome to the Community Center! Have you heard of cohosting? This might be a suitable way of allowing you to manage different listings and have access to the Airbnb account. This Community Help Guide explains what a co-host is.

I have moved your post to a new thread, as it is easier for other users to find it here and offer advice. I have also given it a title, please let me know if you want to change it!

Hi Kirstie

Am now improving on what i meant or want with the co-host function. I have been in real estate for a while and managed to know so many elite and middle class home -owners in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. But i want to start with Uganda. So far i started having meetings about home-sharing with home owners 2  weeks ago, so far i have 4 Hosts who have liked the idea of Airbnb. I have read the Airbnb terms and conditions exhaustively. i started by opening an account as a Host because i didnt know the difference between a host and co-host. A cousin of mine introduced Airbnb idea to me and i liked it. Began with my Auntie's apartments. Now i want to know how i can be on the co-host profile for Uganda, so i start reaching out for hosts. I also learnt that its the duty of the host to add a co-host on their listing, and have also learnt how pay out are done. How do i move from this stage? i have the potential to list hundreds of hosts who respect and believe in my services. Am using the slogan "Become an Airbnb Host" . I have started reaching out to hosts telling them about the benefits of home-sharing and short -term rentals. Its going on well. 4 hosts have allowed me access to take photographs of their properties. i have also created a Facebook account. Which i can use in marketing the co-host role. I need your guidance on this and way forward. i look forward to working with Airbnb to make affordable accomodation availed.

It's great that you have found so many people interested in using your services as a co-host! You are correct that the host needs to create a profile and add you as a co-host. You can tell them to follow the instructions here. You could also show them this information page about co-hosting.

Happy hosting!
