Confirming a guest that has cancelled their reservation

The guest has already cancelled the reservation and has requested me to confirm the cancellation so they can get their money back and I can't find it! I don't know what to do, Airbnb is soooo confusing and I can't figure out what the hell to do. Please help me!!! I feel like no matter what I do Im going to be penalised for something that is out of my control, I feel its unfair, I feel like the hosting experience has been a difficult one for me, I'm hating it because I cannot find any answers to my problems, Im a struggling unemployed student with a 11 month old baby and I can't seem to catch a break, and all I wanted to do was make a few extra $$ and a $50USD fee is going to really set me back.

They cancelled not you tell them they will have to contact them it's out of your hands. You should not be penalised as you did not cancel the guest.

Do not confirm the cancellation when Airbnb messages you or you will be stuck as the one who is canceling with a fee and blocked schedule. Click thaf you can still host them.

@Shawn165

If the guest cancelled, there is nothing for the host to "confirm". ABB will handle any refund applicable and automatically process it. There is nothing for the host to do or to refund because ABB will do it according to the policy.

DO NOT click cancel/accept/agree if you get a "GUEST requests that you cancel" message.
