Couldn't host as I fell ill the night before my guest's arrival

Hey folks,

 

I had confirmed a booking and my guest had already done the payment. But, I fell ill the night before my guest's arrival; I sent a message to my guest and he managed to stay at another place. But, now, I am not able to make his payment back. Is there any way I can do that? I wonder why airbnb doesnt have a customer care. 

 

Your help is highly appreciated.

@Ranjan1  Hope you are well now.  Of course Air BNB has customer service, but the challenge for many hosts is how to reach them.  There are also instructions about refunding the guest.  Look in the Help Center using search terms "refund guest".  

Thanks @Linda108 for your answer. Yeah I am doing good now. Well, my guest had claimed the amount from Airbnb and it was then redirected to me. I tried to pay back by clicking on the Pay button but it never worked. I tried almost more than 10 times. Still I don't see this issue being cleared. 

 

I am very new to airbnb so please help me what I can do now? And also please throw some light on "how to reach them(customer service)".

(Just trying to elaborate my problem for a better understanding.)

 

...in continuation with my first message.

 

My guest Mr.Rander rightly raised a "money receive" request from me. But, when I try to pay him by clicking on the pay button, it's not functioning. (Please check the first picture named: Guest_to_Host_Receive_request.jpg.

 

As it did not work even after so many trials, I tried to raise a new send request to him. But, that didn't work either; and it says there is already an active claim request from Rander. (Please check the next picture named: Host_to_Guest_Send_request.jpg.

 

I strongly feel there is a massive bug in this part of this appication. Kindly resolve it and solve this issue.

you should contact Airbnb and tell them you had to cancel because you were ill, and call for extenuating circumstances otherwise you will be punished by loosing superhost status for a year, 50-100˘$ fee, blocking days etc...
