I've searched the community, but nothing specific to this. My current guest wants to transfer the last 2 weeks of his 30 day booking to another guest. The other person has stayed with me before and him staying again is acceptable, but I don't know how this can be done since the first guest is staying with me now. His work assignment ended earlier than anticipated and he's trying to not have to forfeit the 2 weeks. I'm not going to do any type of exchange without Airbnb being involved because for all parties protection I need the replacement guest to be officially booked. Anyone know how to waive a cancellation and open up calendar for new booking? Help Desk is really busy today, this is the first time I've called and haven't gotten an answer.
Thank you Sarah, I do like that but guest 1 has my calendar booked, so I would have to cancel him for the last 2 weeks for guest 2 to book or anyone else for that matter. But I do like the way you stated things, I'd need so nbn e type of confirmation from guest 2 so as not to be out of money.
@Tina274 That's actually what I meant, but I guess I didn't say it clearly- get guest #1 to cancel, but don't refund him until and unless you can book the unused part of his booking.
Good info Sarah. Even if I canceled the last two weeks for guest 1, Airbnb would give him a refund out of future bookings so it isn't like I could retain the money. What I've decided to do is have guest 2 book from my place, because I want to be sure he will, and that way I'll cancel guest 1 and have guest 2 book in essence at the same time so I can be sure not to be at a loss. Thank you for feedback!
Why don’t u just change the date of the current guest and start s new reservation with new guest
That's what'll have to be done Nancy, but I wanted the 2nd guest to actually arrive and book from my home because otherwise there is no guarantee that he'd actually book and then I'd be out of the remainder of the money from the first guest's booking because soon as I amend the calendar taking him off, then Airbnb would put in motion for him to receive a refund.
