In the last 10 years I have dealt with at least two dozen different customer service departments from various companies. I have had to deal with Airbnb customer service multiple times. I dread it worse than any nightmare I have had. My bar is very low but I find an amazingly consistent lack of logical resolution to any issue I need to deal with. I hate to encourage vrbo because they have consistently skimmed an additional $14,000 in monetizing my relationship I have with renters after expedia bought them (I guess yay? for them for exploiting what hadn't occurred to the previous owners) I don't really care of any consequence Airbnb threatens me with. Dealing with their inept customer service is so miserable, any penalty would be better than entering "crazy town" again. PLEASE FOLKS, USE VRBO - ugh....I can't believe I said that!
