Declining a Potential Guest

I was told by Airbnb that I could decline a potential guest without giving a reason.  In the past, on occassion I have.

Today I decided the fit was not good but now Airbnb asks why. I told them why but then they made me write a response to the prospective guest whom I declined.   The guest wrote me back.  It was truely uncomfortable.

Have you experienced this?

Is this a new policy?

When declining a reservation request or inquiry, for as long as I can remember, I have needed to present a reason why and write a note about it.  Since this note shows up in the communication thread between me and the guest, I assumed it was shared with the guest.  Sorry you had an awkward experience.

They book this girl to move in my house by the 3/20/2017 was a surprise for me since I never aproved it, besides I am not looking for girls..I denied it and as you I had to write her why she was not fit for my place...after I had been trying to cancel airbnb, but I think I will give another try and learn more about how this works..
