Declining an Inquiry

I am new on airbnb and i am offering a private room that fits for one guest so i declined an inquiry to book my room because he says that they are two not one as stated on the booking form by airbnb so does this declining will affect my rating or not ? and how can i view my response rate ??

@Hossam6,

In such case answer the guest within the 24 hours time-limit and do nothing more. It is not obliged to decline or pre-approve an INQUIRY, just remove it from your dashboard. Your responsrate is in your account, section "progress". If you decline very often, especcially on REQUESTS, which must be accepted or declined, it will affect your rating and your position in the search results.

BTW If a REQUEST is only a question (so the guests should have sent an INQUIRY instead) or can not be fulfilled because the guest did not read the listing correctly, ask the guest to withdraw it within the time-limit, so it saves you a decline because of the guest being in error.

Hope this helps,

Emiel

thank you emiel but i still do not understand the difference between the inquiry and the request that will affect the rating either in a good way or badly how can i differenciate between them ?

You receive an Inquiry when guest clicks on the "contact host" textlink in the listing.

It has the options "Pre-approve or Decline" with it. it is not blocking dates on your calender.

You receive a Request when guests are using the booking form on your listing. It has options "Accept or Decline" and also blocks requested dates on the calender.
