Did airbnb get rid of the pre approval and decline button?

I'm really disappointed in airbnb, I have tried calling them a few times but get disconnected. I was able to decline a few people, and then the decline button was no longer there. I have people booking me with no reviews. And I specifically put in my profile must have at least two good reviews. I have listed in my house rules no children under 12 because there are other airbnb guests in a different room. I had to press the cancel button even though the booking was one month in advance. I also had to cancel a group transaction because it was beyond booking capacity. The room is only made for two guest, not groups of people and there was children involved.. Its madness that guest can get away with breaking house rules before even staying. And I have no way to decline them but force to cancel get penalized.

It sounds like you have instant book turned on and don't realize it.  With instant book, guests can automatically book a property provided they meet the requirements you set in your listing.   In the requirements, you can set Government ID, at least 1 non-negative review, and a quick intro / questionaire when booking.  If you don't have any of those chosen, then it just really takes an Airbnb account to be able to book.  You can change those settings under Listing -> Booking Settings - > Guest requirements.

@Ann298, you have Instant Book active for both of your listings. If someone makes an Instant Booking, of course you will not have either an "Accept", "Pre-Approve" or "Decline" button available to you.

Regarding the group booking: since your listing is set to a maximum of 2 guests, how did they book with more people?

Also, it does not matter what you write in your description or profile. If your profile says that the guest must have at least two good reviews, but you have not made that a requirement for Instant Booking, then anyone can do an Instant Booking. (By the way, you can't set Instant Book to require 2 good reviews. You can only require that a guest be recommended by at least one host).

On a separate note: your response to your guest Jason looks strange. He wrote you a very nice review "Definitely Uber distance to Savannah. Ann is super friendly." and your public response was not very friendly at all. I understand he may have given you a 4-star review, but guests cannot see that. All they see is Jason being friendly, and you being mean.

It does not make you look good.

This is terrible, I had instant book on and I was able to decline 24 hours in advance, now I can’t even decline anyone 30 days in advance. I thought the system changed on me.. it’s so weird. Yesterday I was able to decline.. I haven’t even changed my settings.

@Ann298 maybe people were sending Inquiries or Reservation Requests before instead of Instant Book reservations?

I mean, even now you still can get a Reservation Request that you can approve or decline. It is just up to the guest if they want to do Instant Book instead.

I did notice that you have no cancellation warnings (so that is great).

What would you like to fix? Do you not want Instant Book on?
