I recently had a self described “off the grid” guest contact me on my personal cell and could only communicate with me that way despite me saying I wasn’t comfortable with that. I also know he was texting from an iPhone, so I don’t think he’s truly that off the grid. Based on context clues, I think he was just locked out of his Airbnb account and couldn’t get back in.
My question is, how did he get my personal cell number? I’ve combed my listing and I can’t see where it’s provided anywhere. I’m curious if he was able to Google it or if it is somewhere on the listing for emergencies.

Both host and guest are given each other's contact number once the booking is confirmed.

If a guest has a confirmed reservation, then your phone number (as set in your account) is available to the guest.
Thanks!
