Does anyone else feel airbnb is putting more risk on hosts?

Having been a host for a few years now, I am seeing the host is taking on more risk by knowing even less about a guest prior to booking.  Imagine if 4 years ago we had a concept whereby you rent your home to a faceless name with one verification?  That was my recent predicament.  I rented, it was a group of young people which is fine and they were great, but this was a risk.   I like being able to see the person, see a full name and know they have been verified fully. I know verification is a setting and reviews are very important but why can’t we get full names and photos prior to booking?  Is this a discrimination thing?  I’m no longer allowing auto book.  I want to be able to ask questions since I have nothing to go by at this point.

Yes, it is to prevent discrimination.

Also as a Guest we are also at risk when Host have no photo and are not verified.

We do not even know the location until we book.

So really it is risky for all of us. Guest and Host.
