Hi everybody,
My guest had to cancel her booking because of a cancer treatment which left her too tired to travel. She did not cancel and has paid her booking. How do I evaluate her "visit" without lying and without prejudicate her (or me)?
Thanks for the help and I wish you a perfect 2019.

thanks Cormac, and I will add that is because of medical urgency so as not to leave her with a negative evaluation.
I was going to mention the medical situation, but decided not to, as this is a very personal matter and he/she may not want it mentioned.
it could be a case of damned if you do, and damned if you don't
Yes, it could be awkward, and that is why I did'nt mention the guest's name. But we had a good contact and I guess it will turn out fine. Any way.
@Manja2 The guest acted honorably from your perspective but could have cancelled under the extenuating circumstance policy and received a full refund.
I agree and told her so. But she has cancer and in the hope of getting better soon she asked me to keep the booking "open" for her later stay. I said yes and when I know she is coming will block the dates so that it compensates (positive thinking on both sides...) . Thanks for the answer and a Happy New Year!
I would leave the following review:
"Unfortunately, XX could not make the reservation due to personal reasons which she did communciate to me. I cannot comment on her cleanliness or following house rules as I did not actually host her. The communication I had with her was quick, thorough, and cordial. It was generous of her to offer to pay for the evening since at that point I was unable to rent the room. I look forward to hosting XX in the future."
Thanks Emilia, I'll add a good part of this to my text, as I had already given top stars to cleanliness etc., thinking of her future. You made a kindhearted review and I thank you for it.
Why would you even bother leaving a review?
