Extra linen/towels charge?

I am about to have my first guests, they will be staying in a spare room in our home for 7 days. How often would you change linen and towels etc, would I go in and clean bathroom everyday while they are staying??

Normally weekly but have spares readily available for the guests, so that if they need a spare they are there.

It also means if anythig needs to be washed quickly you can ask them to leave it in a laundry bag you can easily accesslet you know they have left them there.

I am unclear how to handle the extra sheets issue. I understand that if I expect my guests, who are staying for longer that, let's say a week, and want to wash their linens could use a spare set (especially since they would need to wait for the sheets to dry hanging). But I have had guests who simply put on the new sheets and left the used one in the room ( like in storage under the bed). This of course caused me an issue because upon their departure I found two sets of sheets to have to be washed and the room had a stronger body smell since the dirty linens being stored there.

It makes sense to provide an extra set of sheets just in case they even have a spill of water, but as I said it's an issue which I am unsure how to handle.

Hi,  I have been a host only for a short time, but found, almost all my guests to be clean and tidy.  I would say from traveling experience.  That you would not need to change the linens on the bed until your guests leave, once a week is fine to change sheets (unless there is a unexpected need).  For towels and washclothes unless they bring their own.  I would just put one extra set of towels and washclothes, and then ask if they might need more.  When I stay in a hotel more than one night they always leave extra towels but they also charge way more.  Fiqure out your cost this time for the 7days of clean towels and then next time put that in your listing.  There is nothing worst then finding another unexpected charge on the bill upon leaving, it's like a lingering bad taste from a good meal.

Hope this helps. Susan from Fallbrook

Per guest:

2 bath and 1 hand towels every 3 days

at least 1 wash cloth every day

change sheets weekly

I also leave extra towels in plain view. I live on the property so it is easy to see what might be needed on a daily basis.

Bed linen weekly. Bath towel and hand towel per guest in the room. One set of towels in the bathroom. Notes in room ask guests to leave dirty towels in linen basket if they want fresh towels. It is a bit like hotels that are trying to be environmentally friendly telling guests that they will only change towels if they are left on the floor of the bathroom.

I tell guests to reuse all towels, and to put the dirties in the tub upon check-out of my house. My towels are not machined dried and I have added that detail to my rules, that they are washed in ECOs (no perfumes) and lined dried.
