Fake booking from neighbouring hosts

Fake booking from neighbouring hosts

Hello everyone,

my name is Monika and I have a little apartment in Spain that I let out through Airbnb and other web pages.

My neighbor is also host, not at Airbnb though.

He not only buggs my guests in a form you can't proof, but his newest scam is making inquiries and bookings for my apartment and then cancelled them in due time, so he never gets to pay a fine, or reservation fee.

Of course, since he is doing this, I have my calendar full with "possible" bookings, even for beginning of next year. Which means that are not available for real guests.

Pretty annoying and hard to proof, since a guest can give a false ID.

What can I do?

Thanks for reading!

Sunny greetings. Monika

Are the problem bookings you mention happening on other websites or on AirBnB?

This is the current AirBnB cancellation policy for your place so it looks like any guest(real or not) who cancels on you will end up paying 50%

Free cancellation for 48 hours
After that, cancel up to 7 days before check-in and get a 50% refund, minus the service fee.

What a turd! Why is he harassing you? He must be trying to block your calendar so he can possible obtain bookings you would have. One thing you could do is up your cancellation charge and then change it later when everything dies down.
