I know in Ireland when I ask the question I was informed I had to notify my insurance company if I had greater than three, paying guests staying.
Insurance policies are based on the legal principal "Uberrimae Fidei" or utmost good faith basically it’s a requirement to tell the truth about what or whom the insurance company are covering. For example if you had a criminal conviction and you fail to notify the insurance company, that would be suffient for them to walk away from the claim.
Insurance Companies have walked away from claims quoting this legal principal.
