On Dec. 10, 2018 I ordered the free smoke and CO detector that AirBnB was offering. It said to allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. I have not received it yet. My page says my order is beig processed. Any idea what my next step shoudl be?
@Ann267I also ordered one some months ago and it hasn't arrived. I don't know where to see the order details on my account though. Where did you find these?
On my Dashboard, where they are still advertising the free detector, when I click Learn More, it takes me to a Home Safety tab. About 3 sections down under Get A Free Detector, under Get One For Free (which is not an active link now) it says Your Order Is Being Processed. I can't find a way to contact AirBnB to get more information.
@Helen3Wow, okay. They must have quite a backlog. I just don't like that they now show it on the listing as a crossed out amenity!
PS I regularly have the boiler serviced and get my gas safety certificate, as well as having a valid electrical safety certificate, all from certified engineers and electricians, and have not been advised to install a carbon monoxide detector as it's not considered necessary in my set up (I do have smoke detectors on every floor though).
I take this stuff pretty seriously and have spent thousands of pounds updating my cenral heating system and stil get it tested and certified annually, plus I have totally rewired the house and had all of that certified recently.
None of this seems to be considered though. Instead there is just a black mark on my listings for not having the carbon monoxide detector.
@John1080 I really can't remembver now when I ordered mine, but I'd say it was months, rather than weeks, ago.
PS I don't have a problem with the slow delivery. I can understand that when you start such an initiative, a backlog is going to form which takes a while to work through. What I object to is that Airbnb immediately startd to flag up on listings that there was no carbon monoxide detector (from what I hear, also on listings where there is no gas, so it's totally irrelevant), before they could send out the ones they had promised hosts. That's not really fair.
Thanks @Sandra856. I guess then there is no point chasing up. Just sit and wait...
@Huma0 I have the same problem. I asked for one a few months ago and I haven't received it yet. I'm still waiting and I don't know how to claim.
