Getting "There was an error processing your request" when trying to cancel trip

I am trying to cancel my trip starting Oct. 1 due to Covid-19. My trip qualifies for the extenuating circumstances and I am trying to get a full refund. I have no problem going through the cancellation process and submitting my documentation. However, when I get to the submit request page and click the “submit request to cancel” button, I end up with the following message:

 

There was an error processing your request

This reservation may already have a pending refund request, or there may have been an error in loading this page.

 

It is not possible for there to be a pending refund request since this is the first time I am trying to cancel. I am using the chrome browser and have already cleared the cache and cookies. I have also logged out and logged back in with the same results. Trying to cancel through the Airbnb mobile app also gives me the same error message.

 

Any help would be appreciated.
