I'm a grad student in a Lab and two of my co-workers and and I are going to a conference at the San Diego Convention Center in April. We want to do AirBnB to cut costs, but we are worried that if one of us books the reservation and is then ubable to go due to a sickness or other emergency, the remaining two will not be able to check into the apartment and then have to pay a cancellation fee and hotel accomodations. Is there any way that all three of us could be on a booking so that we could each be able to check into the apartment if the primary booker couldn't make it? Its a long shot that that will happen, but none of us could really swing that kind of cost so its somethingthat  we're worried about.

Thanks,

Tim

You can do it two ways, @Tim326:

1. https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/1226/how-do-i-set-up-payment-groups-for-my-company - it would be your company/manager doing it

2. https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/1429/can-i-split-a-reservation-payment-with-other-guests - you set up a group and in a way have equal rights (each of you pays). Most hosts will not object if the main booker is absent, but the group explicitly consists of all the members (added through Airbnb option)

@Tim326 if you all have ABB accounts, then ABB CS has the ability (host does not!) to transfer the booking away from the guest who isn't coming and into the name of one of you who is still coming
