Guest Rating Comparisons -- Who are we compared to?

When my stats says "Overall, you’ve received 5 stars 95% of the time. On average, hosts near you get 5 stars 71% of the time." who are the hosts I am being compared to? I guess that the metric is geographic but what determines whether another host is 'near'me? How many are in this comparison?

I am in mid-nowhere BC outside of a town where almost every visitor is just passing through. Am I being compared to destination locations like Vancouver or resort areas like the Okanagan?

@Bruce0  Great question.  Ask Air BNB as I am pretty sure no host has the answer but would love to hear it!

That's a good point you brought up. Generally I think it's your neighborhood you are in but maybe in your case nearest airbnb listings near you?
