Hi,
I've had a guest request a letter stating the 5 people who have booked are staying at my house (to include their passport details), plus they want a utility bill copy. They mention this is for the airport/immigration but it seems an unusual request and I'm not 100% comfortable with it. Are there any precedents for this? I would have assumed the AirBnb confirmation itself would suffice? They are coming from South Africa to Ireland.
Thanks in advance,
James
@James1587 what would they need the utility bill for? That piece of paper contains important details about your home, I wouldn't be comfortable providing that also. I know many people who applied for visas and I have applied for different countries too and this has never been a request. You could ask around in embassies if this is an requirement but even if it is I would say it is better to loose one booking than providing that type of info.
Hi Ana
Thanks so much. Yes I found this unusual. Even the letter signed by me with their passport details seems over the top - because she holds a confirmation from Airbnb for 5 guests so she can print that out.
Thanks for your help
James
@James1587 I think these posts might help. I would be very wary of these guests..... who knows what they will try to do once they arrive.
