Guest checked out early due to change in plans, how can I give them a partial refund?

I had a guest book with me for 2 weeks and checked out after 1 week due to a change in plans. I'd like to give a partial refund as I was able to get my place quickly booked out again. When I go to my message history with the guest on Airbnb, I don't see anything shown (just a blank page without any message history). I'm not able to message them or provide a partial refund. How can I message them and provide a partial refund?
