Guest saying he was double charged for his stay?

We are new to hosting. A week or two after one of our guest's stay, I got a 'your guest is requesting money' message saying he was double billed for his stay. In my transaction history, I am only seeing one charge for him. I also only see one payout for him to our bank account. Amounts in both cases are correct. I messaged him to say I only see one transaction in our history and it is correct. He says he sees two transactions. Where do I start looking into this??

Thanks for any advice on how to proceed.

Hi,

seems like scam to me, probably tries to have free holiday.

Hope not!

He has likely not been double billed, @Dave-and-Lindsay0 - he is just reading it wrong. But if he insists it is so, he needs to call Airbnb. You received only one payment, and you cannot help him. You have no access to his account, etc.

Thanks! Will let him know that. Fingers crossed he's just reading it wrong and it is quickly resolved.

You should instruct your guest to contact Airbnb directly, as they are the ones who handle all the money, not you.  Could be a scam or this guest could just be mistaken.  Either way, it's not your place to refund him anything.

Thanks! Will do so.
