Hi All,
I have a reservation pending for a guest that want to bring a child, my listing says max two people. I don't want this booking however if I decline it blocks those dates. What can I do?
Thanks in advance.
Andy
Hi @Andy489
Can i ask why you think it would block the dates?
If the listing is 'Instant Booking' and you have a max of 2 then contact airbnb saying the guest is breaking the rules asking to bring a 3rd (the child) ---> booking cancelled by airbnb, dates left clear
If it's just 1 adult and a child and you have a no children policy, contact airbnb --->booking cancelled by airbnb, dates left clear
If its 'request to book' just decline, the dates wont be blocked, it will ask for a reason you can just say 'guest doesnt fit' then give the reason of brining a child. It will affect your confirmation rate % (but if you don't decline often its not a big thing to worry about) but it will still leave the dates open for others to book.
Or was there a different situation?
Thank you... I’ve messaged the guest asking to cancel their booking.
@Andy489 Do Not decline! It will hurt your acceptance rate. Write the guest telling you are very sorry but you can't host children as stated in your houserules/policy on the listing. Ask the guest to cancel /withdraw the request as soon as possible.
@Andy489 airbnb only blocks your dates if you cancel an already confirmed reservation.
Thank you... Ive message the guest asking them to cancel their booking
