I'm new at this. I have a request where a guest has an acute fragrance allergy. She will be getting allergy shots and wants to stay in my place for three days, 24 hours per day, watching tv, and ordering in food. Does Airbnb imply "bed & breakfast" or does it mean that the guest can stay 24 hours per day? Any comments?
Thanks

Technically, the guest is free to stay as much or as little as they want in the listing space during their booking.
But if it were me.... I'd tell the guest they would be better suited to checking into a hospital than staying in my home while recieving treatment. I would not want to be responsible in any way for providing a certain type of envionment for someone undergoing medical treatment. I would make it very clear, I am uncomfortable and cannot in any way guarantee that my home will meet the guest's needs.
Seriously........ do people actually expect Airbnb hosts to provide assisted care living services?? Wtf??
@Alan-and-Angie0 Technically, yes, they have paid for the days and can stay in the house all the time unless your house rules state that they must vacate between certain hours. Is this normal? Nope.
Is your place fragrence free and how will you ensure that this is the case when this guest arrives?

@Alan-and-Angie0, What guests get up to in my house is none of my business, stay in, go out, whatever you want. So I don't think this is an issue, and it is good that she is telling you what she intends to do. I would ask the important question: What if you find youeself allergic to my house? I cannot guearantee it's suitability for you, linen and cleaning products might leave you with issues. Are you sure this will be ok for you? Perhaps you could bring your own allergy free linen and towels, as I am a little worried.
Excellent comments. I never thought of that.
I realised that it's wrong, yes it IS my business, as in no parties and all that. But out or not, whatever they need.
I have a rural “retreat” and frequently have guests stay and only leave the property for groceries. It wouldn’t bother me if she wanted to stay, but I don’t offer a fragrance free environment. That would worry me. If her results come out abnormal or she thinks the house has fragrance upon arrival, she might make an issue of it.
I took your advice and declined the request. Thanks
