Recently started using one of my room for airbnb, was horrified when i found out this guest left 3 used condoms tucked under the duvet. Blood smeard across the pillow cover and bed sheet. Should i suck it up or leave a negative review for the guest so other hosts can see?
Initially i was curious with the guest because airbnb shows they live in the same town where my listing is. And all his review are for stays in this Town.
Here are the facts, guests have 11 airbnb reviews all in the same town. Guest booked for one night but only stayed for 2 hours between 6am to 8am next morning claiming they're travelling. And they were being very loud and moaning by 6am
Here are my speculations, he is either bringing in prostitutes or just meeting a lover, and the other hosts probably didn't want to leave a negative review knowing he is from the same town.
You really need to leave honest reviews if not they will not mean anything and you will bring other hosts in the same situation.
i had a guest who clearly didn’t had any common sense and I gave him a bad review explaining why.
@Andrew1387 review factually, one star for cleanliness. Consider a two-night minimum stay going forward.
I almost always decline the inquiries and requests from the same town. I will only accept it in case there is a truly reasonable need to stay in the same place ( family visiting and no space for everyone in their home, for example).
As far as your question on how to review: I always review guests and see it as my due diligence to all other fellow hosts to provide factual and honest review to help them make informed decision about them hosting that guests. I also hope that other hosts use the same idea when reviewing. It does not help us as a community shielding truthful info about any guest.
You could choose to address the condoms and blood in the "private feedback" portion of your review and explain that he needs to realize that the host is usually the one cleaning up after the guests and scrubbing the sheets. Leave him 1 star in cleanliness. Do not recommend him to future hosts. Public review: "John was a friendly guy (if he was) but all the linens had to be replaced after his very brief stay".
Resolution Center request for costs of linens and labour?
Hey how are you? Sorry you went through this mess. I had a guest whom I think had an abortion or something because there was blood everywhere from the bathroom to the bedroom and I don’t check the guest bathroom when I only have one guest out of my two rooms. Anyway I might consider if there’s blood on Linens to ask for money that you could choose the amount of going forward in the future anywhere from $20- $100 I asked for 200 in the case of the woman I had because there was blood everywhere and I had to throw out a blanket I had to throw out sheets I had to throw so much stuff away they did give me $100 but I did ask him initially I think for 200 and made if you have been 300 I don’t remember because it was months and months ago but it was disgusting and I actually had another one today that I think she was on her. And she left she rolled up all the ball the sheets but I do have those waterproof bed covers on all my beds. It’s an extra $30 or so but come in handy. I actually have one extra one I purchased by accident but they’re very handy. And if the blood won’t come out for the woman with the period I have no qualms about asking for something for my troubles. Another $50 request which I’m certain would get whittled down to $20 after resolution.
@Steven614 Blood comes out, there's no need to throw the stuff away. You have to soak it in cold water for awhile, then pour hydrogen peroxide on the stains. Never throw things with blood stains in the washing machine with hot water- it just cooks the stain in so it never comes out.
I just went through a similar thing with a couple. They had sex and the girl must have been on her period, because I found blood on the bedding as well as a washcloth, that the guest had saw fit to discard in the trash, even though it was not a disposable wash cloth. They had also tried washing the bed sheets but didn't dry them very well so I came back to a wet set of sheet. I'm under no illusions about the things guests do and I'm generally prepared to handle these types of situations, but it was particularly frustrating that they threw the cloth away. It felt like they were trying to cover it up.
sounds like the guest had a great time except for the blood of course. at least you should expect a good review from Mr Lucky
I would have left a negative review. I don't know why people choose to water down reviews with these pigs. If they soil the sheets to the point that stains will not come out, then ask them to pay. If they refuse, mention the condoms and stains in a review. Simple as that. Treat pigs as pigs.
