Hi everyone,
Unfortunately just had disrespectful guests who not only checked out 6 hours late(not answering messages or calls), but left my property stinking of cannabis - anyone got any good advice as to how to get rid of the smell - got guests arriving in 2 days.
Thanks
Sue

Sorry to read this.
I hope you have reported them to. Authorities to follow up on.
If you use related keywords someone may have put a suggestion in CC.
Alternatively try slicing an onion in half and leave it in the room to absorb the smell, it works for paint.
Baking soda sprinkled on carpet and mattress and left for a few hours or if possible overnight may help eliminate it.
If you have net curtains they are easy to wash oneself however other curtains where the smell is also absorbed will need cleaning.
Very annoying problem to rectify Have you contacted Airbnb support to lodge a claim for related expenses?
All the best
Hi Helen,
Thanks for your support & advice. I'll investigate claiming some expenses too - I'm fairly new to air bnb so still working my way around the system!.
Best regards
Sue
Did anyone have any success at getting the smell out quickly? I now have a unit that reeks from the previous guests.
@Sue777 Open the windows and put on a fan. Bowls of vinegar and/or baking soda set out will absorb odors. Wash whatever is washable.. Once you wash down surfaces that you would normally do when cleaning anyway, that will help a lot. The odor of cannabis doesn't cling to things the way cigarette smoke does and should dissipate fairly quickly.
