Hello, I am new as a host. After reading several comments on cleaning fees, I have understood that this fee is to have the place ( a room in my case) ready and cleaned when the guest arrives, or to clean the room when guest checks out. Does that mean that we as host do not need to clean the room or fix beds, etc during the guest stay? like a hotel? I usually rent per week but when a guest is staying for a month, do I need to worry that the room is cleaned, be concerned that is cleaned, organized, reasonably kept by guest? I need suggestions please.
@Yesit0 The answer to your question is really what would you expect as a guest. Have you ever been an Air BNB guest? I find that helps being a guest helps me be a better host. I mostly have guests for a few days but those who book over a week, I offer and somewhat insist to change bed linens and towels. If a guest wants more privacy, just provide the clean linens and let them make the change. Best of wishes for your success!
You don't need a cleaning fee, up to you. I don't, it comes with the price of the rental. Cleaning during visits or not depends on how long they are staying. I would clean at least once a week, but my longest guests are in for a week, more normal is only for 2 nights. Cleaning before arrival is obvious!
you have to clean, before the check in, and after the check out for the next check in.... it is normal.
Personally if they stay more than 3 nights, we ask after the 2nd night if them would like to have clean towels, and if they stay, let say 10 nights, we ask on the 5th nights if they would like to have new sheets on the bed.
but is up to you, just feel the situation and make them comfortable.
