Gusts have stolen items from apartment

HI,

Unfortunately we have had a bad experience today, my girlfriend had airbnb guests staying for 1 week in her apartment and on checkout today they had already left and had gone through all of her items stealing jewellery, makeup and other valuables.

I would like to know how to request the guest information, names, emails, ip address when requesting the booking so these can be provided to the Police.

Then your girlfriend should file claim for the guests via Airbnb. Please read all terms for filing a  claim (see Help section).

Your girlfriend can involve Police, some private data can be found on the reservation (name, phonenumber, emailaddress). Not sure if Airbnb is willing to share more private data with her, but maybe they will if data is requested by officials (like a Police investigation)

@Tom2747  Airbnb will not give you this personal information. They may give it to the police.

It's a shame your girlfriend had this happen, but hosts should ever leave personal items of any value in a listing when they have guests there. Having Airbnb guests is exactly the same as having strangers in your home. You have to take measures to protect yourself- Airbnb won't.

@Tom2747   How were guests able to access your girlfriend's personal valuables? 

I doubt you'll see any compensation for jewelry, but if they had to break a locked door or container, you might be able to get reimbursed for this damage. If the jewelry was just laying around unsecured, I'm sad to say this will probably turn out to be an expensive lesson.

Your girlfriend (not you unless you are a co-host) has hopefully filed a police report.

She said request a request through the Resolution Centre for the stolen items

Your girlfriend can also try making a claim through her specialist home insurance for STRs. 

Your girlfriend can collect guest ID as long as she puts it in her house rules. No-one is going to provide her with an IP address though 🙂  She just needs to make sure the way she stores the information is GDPR compliant.
