HOST WARNING - check your payments!!

Fellow hosts,

I happened to notice I had still not received payment 6 days after a guest checked in.  I was sent an email saying the money had been transfered, as I usually do, and thought nothing more.  Then when I missed my mortgage payment, I found out that actually no payment had been made to my account.  I spoke with AirBnB and was told it was a "system error" and "had I not called it would have never been noticed".  I STRONGLY encourage everyone to check and make sure no other "system errors" have taken in money but not transferred it out.  I am very disappointed in that the reservation was made over 8 months ago, Airbnb has been making interest off the money for all this time and then due to a "system error" I will be paying overdraft charges until Airbnb gets around to fixing their problem.  And let me reiterate - a problem they are apparently completely unaware of and one that the host needs to find in order to get what is owed to them.

I am one very disappointed, penalty-paying host.

Stacey

This is totally ridciculous.

It's like airbnb puts out a certain percentatge of "DONT PAY THE OWNER" and some fall thru if you don't check so they can get your money and keep it. SUPER UNFAIR AIRNBNB. Switching everything over to homeaway.com

SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING TOO FREQUENTLY....I have still not received payment from a previous guests stay who checked out exactly 2 weeks ago ( they stayed 5 nights ) . I have been booked out since with other guests and I have received their payment ( which is usually always on the second day of the guests stay  as it has always been with my personal experience with Airbnb ) .

I have contacted the Airbnb Support team and despite their assurances that somebody would respond to me to sort this issue out I have still NOT received any response NOR MONIES OWED . I have now made 3 calls over this 2 week period & each time I am thanked for " reaching out " ............but I 'm still grasping at nothing !!

I have discussed this with a few media friends and they have offered to do some media coverage ....it is extreme but what else do I do ? I can't believe I have had no response from Airbnb & no payment for a guest's visit of 5 nights . ...and I am a superhost with a contact number . What happens to other hosts who do not have access to this number ???

totally ridiculous.  I called airbnb and told them i am switching my high $ dollar weeks and nights to homeaway.com becuase they pay you half right when guest books and half 30 days before check in. They don't HOLD YOUR MONEY AND COLLECT interest.

This is so **bleep** frustrating that they can get away with that...........i use to like airbnb and between that hadn also making you provide sheets and towels when in some cases in cape cod guests bring their own it just means HIGHER PRICES FOR GUESTS OR LOWER PROFITS FOR OWNERS.

Airbnb it turning into the uber of vacation properties. there are so many more options that are more fair to good owners.

Exactly same thing happened to me also , guests come and gone , no payout , dont return calls or messages , thanks for reaching out crap and no explanation , l am going to delete account if next guests payout does not arrive also , l am not a charity and cant have people staying for free !! what kind of company is this !!

l also have squaters from another airbnb booking that l am having to evict through the legal process , came for two months ,paid for them ,stayed another two months and didnt pay airbnb ,airbnb cancelled their booking and offered nohelp or support as they said they werent their clients anymore , l am now owed some 9k by these guests !!!!

Hi

I have had guests stay from March 23 for 10 nights they left 2 days ago and I still have not recieved payment ? I have had 5 emails each telling me the money has been released and that it will be with me by ... (each email gives a later date) I spent 40 mins on the phone to be told it was released and would clear tomorrow to then receive another email saying it would clear on the 10th ofApril !

I have sent numerous emails trying to sort this ? This was my first host and I think it will be my last ! The guests were fab but Airbnb service is shocking !! Anyone managed to resolve a similar situation ?

@Collette5 New hosts have to wait 30 days from 1st reservation for payouts to start, click the link for more info

when-will-i-get-my-payout

What is your reasoning for holding funds for 30 days?? To earn thousands of dollars of interest on OUR money on top of your fees? The guest money has already cleared! This is completely unfair and dishonest business practice! I have taken the advice of many many others on here and listed my home with VRBO. I have also notified guests that have requested information that hosts are having difficulty getting paid. I have seen tons of poor press on Facebook to Airbnb since becoming aware of this. I never knew! We wouldn’t be renting out our home if we didn’t need the money NOW not 30 days from now!,

I have not received the payment for a booking I had during March, it has been almost a month and Airbnb is not helping me in getting paid

I have similar problem with 2 payout made by AirBnB from March booking. I have not received yet over 1 month. I call AirBnB, the Payment Specialist name Rae (aka, Juliet ?) told me two version answer:

1. The payment have been released. AirBnB have proof of receipt.

2. The reason I have not received the fund because account name holder is different.

It sounds contradictory isn't it ?

I told them there is only one name account holder and no other name. Also, I told them back in June 2017, there were 3 payout to same account number was successfull. Nothing have been change since then ?

The sad thing is, when I ask them to sent me the proof of receipt so I can bring it to my financial institution AirBnB refused citing privacy issue, because the name is not my name. Can't they cross or black out the name ? How can I ask my bank to investigate without any proof ?

I want to talk to Rae, left her few massages requesting to call me but she just ignoring my request.

I did call AirBnB to escalate the issue, spoke 2 times with 2 different supervisor (John and Greg) with no help at all. I dont know what else I can do to resolved this issue and get my hard earn money - MY MONEY. I work hard to achieve Superhost but is it how AirBnB treat me ???...

What I need from AirBnB give me the proof of detail receipt the fund already in my bank so I can come show it to my bank.  If anyone have similar experience and or can advise me what else I can do, I am very much appreciated.

Joshua.
