Had to cancel a booking due to damages, now I regret it

I've had to cancel 2 bookings back-to-back as the toilet had broken and couldn't get it fixed for 2 days, now AirBnB have fined me!

Ok, the toilet was ok for 'me' to use because it wasn't a major problem but there's no way I could have let guests use it.

It took a plumber 2 days to come and fix it but now I've been fined.

How do I get this applealed? It's not fair that I should be penalised for looking after guests safety and wellbeing!

Thanks.

If you had contacted BNB to tell them about your extenuating circumstances rather than cancelling the booking you wouldn't have been penalised.

bnb makes it clear to hosts that it takes cancellations seriously and what the penalties are.

Give them a call and see if they can take the circumstances into account.

completely understandable.... sorry this has happened to you. Best is to now call Airbnb immediately and plead your case, that you have extenuating circumstances and didn't know about the penalties involved with canceling. Maybe they'll reverse it for you.

Cancellations and how to contact Airbnb are the two most often repeated complaints here, maybe use the search function to learn more. In any case, do read up on what is involved with canceling. Good luck!
