Had to cancel a booking, now dates are blocked

Hi !

I had to cancell a reservation. The guest and I agreed. I don't understand why I can't not mark those dates in my calendar available, and why I will be taken money from Airbnb of my next payment. If you read

airbnb software treats any cancellation you do as a host cancellation with the following penalties.  You could have used the alteration tool to move the guests from one unit to another.

As @Marit-Anne0 said, there are penalties for cancelling a booking as a host- you can see the full penalties here. The only way you can avoid these penalties is if you had to cancel due to extenuating circumstances.
